    Abstract
The tradition, history, and the architecture of Sungbo Eredo (Sungbo earthwork) have
been well researched by authors such as Lloyd (1959), Aremu (2002), Choiun (2014),
Lasisi and Aremu (2016), and Choiun and Lasisi (2019) but the technology that
supported the construction has not been studied. This paper examines the relationship
between Sungbo Eredo and the ironworking sites of Odonoko and Imeri. A date of cal
AD 1450 was obtained through radiocarbon dating method for ironworking in
Odonoko and Imeri which is contemporaneous with the 14th to 15th centuries date for
the moat obtained by Choiun (2014:43). The paper also suggested a further study into
    Ijebu and Benin relationship.
